February 27th marked the seventh annual Around the World in 80 sips event sponsored by Bottlenotes. If you were following my Twitter page the night of the event, then you know I had a great time. It took place at the Golden Gate Club at the Presidio in San Francisco. This was my first year attending, and I was totally overwhelmed by all there was to see and do. The event gives you the opportunity to taste wines from all over the world, mingle with top wine experts and enjoy a light but delicious fare.
My most favorite feature of the evening was The Sherry Suite, which entails access to a private suite where you enjoy exceptional wines the world over. You will come across some very exclusive wines not available at your local retailer. This spectacular suite was sponsored by Sherry-Lehmann, one of the most renowned retailers of wine and spirits in the country.
Upon entering the suite you were greeted by Sherry-Lehmann General Manager, Matt Wong, who guided you through The Sherry Suite experience. You were given a menu with wines to explore and encouraged to feast on the delectable treats.
I am such a bubbly girl and was excited to find so many options to taste. Some of my favorites are pictured below:
I was “super-uber fan” excited to run into this beautiful lady. Bottlenotes Founder and CEO, Alyssa Rapp, was gracious enough to pose for a snapshot.
Also in The Sherry Suite was a seated experience dedicated to a special selection of Chateau Montelena wines. The educator was upbeat and a lot of fun. We started with a really yummy Chardonnay. Then tasted our way through several vintages of Cabernet Sauvignon.
I could have stayed in the suite all evening but decided to venture out to see what else was happening. My first stop was to the Wine Sisterhood Social Club Suite, where you could enjoy VIP wines, VIP people (like my new wine sister Claire Walsh of Vintage Wine Estates), gourmet hors d’oeuvres and a fun photo booth.
There was SO MUCH MORE to see and do. Video coming soon!!!!
