Wine Review: Dashe 2013 Riesling

Mother’s Day brought about a happy occasion this year, in which the family got to partake in a wonderfully delectable Mother’s Day Brunch sponsored by Scott’s Seafood Restaurant in Walnut Creek.  I could go on and on about how much we all ate, but that would take forever.  I will, however, tell you all about my wonderful gift from my sister.  A bottle of Dashe Riesling (I tell ya, the girl knows what to buy me!).

 Name: Dashe Cellars
Varietal:  100% Riesling
Vintage: 2013
Alcohol: 13.3%
Appellation: Potter Valley (Mendocino County)
Aromas and Flavors: Apricot, honey, citrus; Begins very fruity, but finishes very dry with lots of good acidity

According to Dashe Cellars, this Riesling was fermented dry in the styles of white wines from Alsace, France (my absolute favorite region to drink Riesling).  At around $22 a bottle, it is a great option to keep around for an everyday white to pair with food.  I had it with my lobster bisque, and they played well together.  I am actually having a glass right now to finish off my afternoon and this article.
