Fall Wine Review Part One

It is fall, and of course that time of the year when red wines really blossom.  I have tasted a variety of wines so far this fall, and wanted to share with you some of my favorites.

Varietal:  100% Malbec

Appellation:  Mendoza, Argentina

Nose:  Vanilla, blueberries, spice, tobacco
Palate:  Low acidity, medium tannins, tobacco, ripe black cherry, plum, long finish

Winemaker Recommended Food Pairings:  Red meat, mushrooms, and stew

Nose:  Ripe Bing cherries, juicy plum, mocha, cocoa, pie crust
Palate:  Low acidity, medium tannins, juicy, violet flowers, dark berries, mocha
