About Me

I am a down-to-earth Mississippi girl who accidentally fell in love with California wine life. My attraction  to wine began as a child in the South through the infamous Muscadine grape.  I arrived in California a decade ago with a  palate for really sweet wines.  Of course, there is nothing wrong with sweet wine, but  when you live in the middle of some of the most sought after wine destinations in the world, you have to do more.   I have since taken every opportunity to explore the wines, places and people of California Wine Country.  Now that doesn’t mean that I am ignoring the rest of the wine world.  I dive plenty into other regions as well.  But I was fortunate to find something about California that really made me feel at home.  Most importantly, that is “wine country people” and “wine country culture”.  Naturally, it doesn’t hurt to have a glass of wine while getting to know both!

I enjoy attending wine country events and sharing my experiences with you LIVE!  I regularly review wines that I pick up at my favorite shops or wineries.  I also receive and review samples from amazing winemakers as well.  I only post reviews on wines that I really enjoy and want you to know about!

This blog is about the places I go and the wines I taste.  I hope that it encourages you to step outside of the box to try a new wine or a new experience.

In addition to writing, traveling and tasting, I am also the Senior Editor of a brand new online wine lifestyle magazine called Seventeen Thirty-Four.  Home to the Directory of Black Wine Professionals, we provide wine industry news for the urban enthusiast!  Visit today at http://www.1734mag.com.
